In depth: In a cave within the zone, a zoner reports that a new zone virus is right on schedule to Overlord. Overlord calls for a damage report from Reaper, who indicates that they've lost the zone generator in Salt Lake City and orders them to Carlsbad. Overlord is clearly frustrated.

Courage is congratulated on rolling back the zone once more. He thinks it's odd that there were only two Black Widows to guard a major installation. Dr. Laurence has noticed a lot of activity near Carlsbad Caverns, and the Zone Riders are to investigate. The Black Widows near the caves spot the Eagle while on patrol. They roll out of the plane and into combat with the Black Widows. Tank and Ben are near an entrance and slip into the caves, but are seen and shot at. Ben is frightened by the bats and swats them away.

Outside, the battle rages as the two sides fight hard. Tucker's cycle is blown apart as he takes to the skies in his helipack, saving two zoners. Kat blasts a Sledge Hammer with Razorback in it and Ned attacks from the air. Tank and Ben, inside the caves, are chased by Duchess Dire and Zoners. Tank uses his bazooka to blow down rocks to cut off the Black Widows against following them. Duchess begins to dig with snapper claws.

Outside, Tucker's backpack is hit (AGAIN) and he goes down. Razorback needs more zoners to capture the Zone Riders, so Overlord assigns them more zoners from Reaper and Crook. Tank drags Ben deeper into the caves against Ben's whining. Overlord hears reports from Crook, and will hold Razorback accountable if the new zone virus is destroyed. As Ben and Tank are chased, a cave in knocks Tank out as Ben falls off of a cliff, into a pool of water. Tank gets up, looking for Ben, and uses his bazooka to attack the Black Widows.

Outside, Courage's plan is to put two cycles on autopilot and send them against the zoners. It brings down part of the cave wall and makes the zoners retreat. Down below, Dire throws a net to catch Tank, but he is too fast. He is caught in a spotlight by zoners when the other Zone Riders ride in to save him. Kat then calls Dirk to look at the vats, which contain a new zone virus, which is permanent. Then, the Black Widows regroup and attack as the Zone Riders seek cover. Intruder appears in the cavern, attacking. Courage tells Ned to build a bomb with Courage's backpack and one of Tank's Zone Blaster shells. Ned encounters hundreds of bats, and blasts them to see the way out.

Hiro determines if he can destroy Intruder's main cannons, it will short out the plane's power system also. He hits it and Intruder begins to go wildly out of control. Razorback goes to Overlord to say its not his fault, but Overlord gathers everyone together to fight, dealing with failure later. In the caverns, Ben escapes with the aid of the bats, who swarm the Black Widows, obscuring their vision as they run into one another. The bomb Ned made cannot be stopped and they have to escape - without Ben. Ben attacks Overlord hand to hand out of nowhere, beating him senseless and stealing Bull Whip. Overlord orders the Widows to attack. Out of the cave rolls Ben in Bull Whip who decides to destroy the Zone Generator while he's at it. They then lift off in Eagle as the virus is destroyed by the bomb. An antidote is made thanks to Katerina brining a sample back, and as Ben adds, thanks to the bats.

Items Noticed: Ned must go through a copter pack a week in this show!

Notes: None.

What do we learn? Ben fears bats and dark places, while Ned should fear using the helipack more than he does now.

Goof ups: Ned's camo pattern warps in odd ways throughout the caverns.

Quotable Quotes: " Everything is out of control! Including all my guns!" - Overlord, delivering an unintentionally hilarious line.

"Hope you weren't too worried." - Ben
"Worried? Me? Nein." - Tank
