In depth: The Zone Riders suit up to head to Eagle and leave M.C.C.. In the northern California zone, there is a residence called Shadow House, owned by Lewis Grayson which is unzoned, even though surrounded. The Black Widows are already there attacking. As the Black Widows attack, the houses automatic defenses fend them off. Eagle lands and dispatches the Zone Riders into battle. None of the OptaScan helmets are working due to electrical interference. Courage then engages the Black Widows with the full strength of the Zone Riders. The Widows retreat from the Riders as they head to Shadow House. The doors mysteriously open for them and they enter inside.

Overlord orders another zone pod deployed to defeat the house. The Zone Riders wander through the house until coming to the study of Lewis Grayson. Courage asks about his anti-zone device. The Widows attack once more, and the Riders have to leave the house to fight them anew. As the new pod expands, the Zone encroaches further on the house. Tank observes Grayson's secret: a force field that fends off the Zone, but which consumes enormous energy to do so. Just then, Reaper attacks unexpectedly with Dire, injuring Grayson and Tank. Kat, outside, goes to investigate the smoke pouring from the basement. Kat saves Tank from the fire, but Grayson has been abducted.

Intruder arrives to pickup Grayson, Dire and Reaper. Kat and Tank investigate the power source, while Overlord interrogates the professor who is still too confused by zoning. Later he reveals the source to be a meteorite that the house is built over. Overlord attempts to leave in the plane, but Hiro destroys the landing gears hydraulics, forcing the Black Widows to attack on the ground while Hiro sneaks aboard. He grabs the professor and radios Courage. Grayson reveals that he has told Overlord how to defeat the field, with a third generator.

Razorback is in charge of the third zone pod, and comes under attack by the Zone Riders. Tank blasts off a chunk of the meteorite and takes it along. He and Kat attempt to escape but are befuddled by the houses size. They then blow holes in the house to escape. The third generator overloads the force field system and the Black Widows retreat having accomplished their mission as the house explodes under the overload. Now the Professor offers his help to M.C.C. to defeat Overlord and perhaps find another zone defeating device.

Items Noticed: Courage orders "Attack Pattern Delta" in which the Zone Riders form a V shape with Dirk at the rear point. This may be a Star Wars reference, as "Attack Pattern Delta" is what Luke Skywalker orders for the Snowspeeders to engage the AT-AT's.

Notes: Only the second episode in which Hiro gets to use his wrist blade weapon.

Take careful note in that in this episode, Overlord wins completely! An episode of utter loss for our heroes, with only a meteorite fragment to gain.

What do we learn? Northern and Central California are zoned heavily apparently.

Goof ups: None apparent here.
