In depth: The Zone Riders battle their way out of the Zone in Budapest with Computer Cubes for Dr. Laurence. Suddenly, Tank is controlled by a strange mist that seems to Zone him. Courage pursues but is Zoned also. The others force the two towards the Eagle, and they escape. An analysis of the armor reveals nothing wrong, and the scientists are baffled. Overlord, having recovered from his previous loss of spies, has once more gained a contact in Mission Command Central. Contacting the spy, Overlord briefs her on his plan.

As the Zone Riders scramble, Kat picks up a scrambled transmission, but can't be sure that it is Overlord. At M.C.C, they learn that the farm with the mist was a chemical weapons factory in 1987 that was too dangerous to move. The chemicals were buried there. A technician enters the top secret briefing and convinces McFarland to let her stay. Kat is suspicious and pursues the technician, finding her reporting on a secret radio. Giving chase, Kat pursues Eva Zoh, who crashes into some boxes.

The Riders determine the man who ran the factory, Gideon Rorshak must be contacted about the chemicals. When the Riders arrive, he runs and they give chase. Unfortunately the Black Widows try to claim him also. Courage gets to him in Rimfire and rescues him. The Zone Riders send in the robot from Laurence to analyze the chemical. Rorshak relays his story to the team, relaying how he made the chemicals under secret orders from General Fazaykis, who is now in the zone. Rorshak want Fazaykis out of the zone before he will help.

Meanwhile, the robot analyzer is destroyed by a Sledge Hammer tank and Max is in battle. Overwhelmed he retreats but heads into the zoning chemicals. He escapes and foils Razorback and Duchess Dire by destroying their tank. Hiro rescues the general with his backpack retriever. They escape, but Bandit has attached a homing device on one of the vehicles.

When the Zone Riders arrive, Courage hands his needler to Rorshak and gets the formula for the chemicals. The other Zone Riders are in horror that Rorshak might kill the General. The General shows remorse, and Rorshak doesn't shoot (even though it was emptied and safetied.)

Nearby, Bandit has fixed a container of the chemical to Hiro's backpack drone and is sending it to Courage to Zone them. As the Zone Riders attempt to destroy the Generator, the chemicals explode, zoning the team except Kat. She freezes the gas with her backpack. They fire on the Generator and end the Zone in Budapest. Back at M.C.C, Rorshak helps protect the suits against the chemical and forgives the General who agrees to help fight the Zone.

Items Noticed: The Code 1 Alert makes an appearance again, and is referenced verbally by Max. Another nice bit of consistency!

Overlord's pronunciation of Budapest is correct - a rarity in cartoons for ethnic words to make the translation. Tank also speaks some German, but it's mostly what you could get out of a dictionary or phrase book, which they clearly must have had on hand.

Notes: The spy in M.C.C. this time works in the large town complex that is at the base of the mountain instead of within the hardened mountain complex itself. This town area was seeen previously in "Small Packages" as an area where many of M.C.C.'s forces live and work.

What do we learn? The spy's (Eva Zoh) code name is "Venus".

Goof ups: Max jumps off a still moving cycle. A moment later when we go back to him, the cycle is next to him, upright and stock still.

Quotable Quotes: "I'm outnumbered, outgunned and outta here!" - Max Jones
"Nice going, woman driver!" - Razorback to Duchess Dire after crashing a tank
