Bandit
infiltrates Mission Command Central (M.C.C.) and disguises
himself as the on-base weapons shop dealer. He hands an unsuspecting
Hiro a new video game device, a holographic battle simulator.
However, when Hiro tries out the new toy in his apartment,

Now Zoned, Hiro tells Overlord the Zone Riders' plan to knock

Notes
As
the first episode of SPIRAL ZONE,
the first thing that comes to my mind is that it would have
been nice to have seen the original SPIRAL
ZONE attack (rather than just having it explained in the
tech files that came with the toys). But instead, the viewer
is introduced to all of the plot and characters just as if
one were familiar with them.
This
episode introduces us to many themes that the viewer will
see throughout the series: Dirk Courage's burden of command,
the close friendship between Tank and Max, and the childish
bickering between the other Black Widows. I was also intrigued
by a brief bit of dialogue between Dirk and Kat suggesting
a romantic connection between them, something that's brought
up on occasion throughout the series.
Otherwise,
it's pretty much your standard "hit-and-run" affair
with a successful outcome in destroying the Zone Generator
plaguing Sausalito.
